Horse-Assisted Coaching
Horses respond to what is here – clearly, honestly and without judgement.
What is Horse-Assisted Coaching?
Sometimes, we find ourselves in the same situations again and again without really understanding why. Together, and with the support of a horse, we can take a closer look at what might be happening.
Horses often mirror very naturally what is going on in the moment. And the wonderful thing about working with them is that we don’t have to stop at noticing a pattern – we can try something different.
I guide you through this process, giving you the space to explore new ways of responding and experience what changes. This way, it’s not only something we understand with our mind – it can become a new experience for the body, too.
How does it work?
We start with the topic you would like to explore and then see what kind of interaction with the horse might support you. There is no fixed exercise or programme – I choose and adapt the exercises depending on you, your topic and what happens in the moment.
I guide you through the process while giving you the space to experience things for yourself. We observe how the horse responds, what you notice in yourself and what changes when you try something different.
Sometimes even a small change – becoming clearer, setting a boundary, slowing down or approaching the situation differently – can create a completely new experience with the horse. And that new experience is something you can take with you beyond the session.
What can you bring to a coaching session?
You can bring anything you would like to explore or experience differently – a situation in which you feel stuck, a recurring pattern, difficulties setting boundaries, uncertainty, stress, a decision you’re facing or simply the wish to feel more confident and clear.
You don’t need to have a perfectly defined topic. Sometimes, knowing that you would like something to change is enough to start.
Do I need experience
with horses?
The simple answer is: no. You don’t need any previous experience with horses, and you will never be asked to do anything that doesn’t feel comfortable for you.
We take things slowly, and you decide how close you would like to be to the horses. A lot can happen simply by observing them and noticing what comes up for you.
I often work with people who have had little or no contact with horses before.
There is so much to discover when we start to listen
I’ve loved horses for as long as I can remember. But working with them in coaching has made me see and experience them in a completely new way. It was as if a new door opened to me.
I’ve become much more aware of their individual personalities, their subtle reactions and the way they communicate – often without us needing any words at all.
And that is something I love about this work: slowing down, paying attention and discovering what becomes possible when we really meet each other.
