Family Constellations with Horses – in a group

A constellation with people and horses – each becoming part of the process in their own way.

What happens in a group constellation?

In a group constellation, we work with human representatives – and with the horses. You bring a topic you would like to explore, and together we decide which people or elements of your system we want to include.

Members of the group can step in as representatives, while the horses are free to move, approach, stay at a distance or become part of what is unfolding in their own way.

This combination can bring another dimension into the constellation. The people can share what they experience in their roles, while the horses communicate in their own quiet and very different way.

The horses choose how they take part

What I love about working in a group with the horses is that we never know exactly how they will become part of a constellation.

They are free to approach, move away, stand close to a representative or simply observe from a distance. We don’t need to immediately interpret what they do. Instead, we stay curious about what their movements and presence bring into the constellation – and what they bring up for you.

We facilitate the group together

I offer these group sessions together with my partner, René Gronwald. Having two of us there allows us to hold the space together and stay attentive to the person bringing their topic, the representatives and the group as a whole.

This is especially important when working with the horses. While one of us may be closely involved in the constellation, the other can stay attentive to the group and the horses, noticing what is happening and making sure everyone feels safe and supported throughout the process.

A glimpse into our group constellations

Two women are standing and holding hands, shaking hands; one woman has dark hair and is wearing a blue dress, the other has gray hair and is wearing a sleeveless top. The woman with gray hair is standing with her hands clasped behind her back. A man with a blue cap and black t-shirt is sitting on a bench, observing the interaction. The background features green trees and a clear sky.

Bringing your own topic – or joining as a representative

You can come with your own topic and have your constellation facilitated by us, or you can join the group as a representative.

As a representative, you don’t need to know anything about the person or their story beforehand. You simply notice what you experience in the place you are given.

And even when it is not your own constellation, being part of someone else’s process can be an interesting and sometimes touching experience in itself.

Do I need experience with horses or constellations?

Not at all. You don’t need any previous experience with family constellations or horses.

We explain everything you need to know before we begin, and we guide the group through the process step by step. You also never have to take on a role or get closer to a horse than feels comfortable for you.
